Spring is here at the farm, and not just in spirit, the blossoms and flowers are out. YES! The magnolias are in bloom. Our peach trees and blueberry bushes are in full flower. There are buds and new growth on the apple, pear and fig trees. The cherry and nectarine trees are almost there, just a day or two away. The herbs are green and the artichokes are sending up canes. Time to get back to work in the garden and orchard…..and we couldn’t be happier.

Gorgeous stuff! I love the little blueberry — pies and smashes and things. Oh god, I love Spring!
We feel the same…can’t wait for the blueberries in a few weeks…sooo good. Strawberries and cherries won’t be too far behind.
Nature is so beautiful
It certainly is! Taking these photos was a real pleasure…
just what I needed to see after getting dumped on by yet another round of snow. thanks for the sunshine:-)
Glad we could help (a little). But shouldn’t you have a few narcissus popping through the snow? Maybe?
wouldn’t that be nice, but there are maybe two feet of snow on the ground, so no peeking yet!
…and we just got another 9″ of fluffy, white snow yesterday. I love the photos and look forward to seeing the same in my own yard.
Thx. We never get any snow at all…but it is pretty. Our kids would like the snow..we will take the flowers.
These photos are beautiful! It gives me hope on this cold, dreary day…
Thanks! We like to spread a little joy…be it photos, or cocktails…;-)
Oh thank you for this gorgeous post! Blueberries in a few weeks!!! Wonderful!
Thank you for the visit! And we actually had a few early blueberries and they were amazing…but now we have to wait for the rest…torture.
Mmmm, hope there is a post or two when the harvest deluge happens…and did you say you have an avocado tree too, or am I imagining things?
No avocados. Sadly, it is just a bit too cold. We have friends a few miles away, closer to the bay that can pull it off. But Persian limes and avocados don’t like the cold. We do have most other citrus, stone fruits, berries, figs, apples and pears…and most other veggies like our weather- just not the avos.
I’m joining all the other commentators who would like to Thank You for this taste of spring! No snow that was predicted here, but freezing rain, and high winds, are making me miserable. Plus, the wet dog is hogging the couch. Phooey.
Glad you enjoyed it and OUCH- freezing rain. Ugh. Ice storms were one of the main reasons we left NY for CA so many years ago….
But at least your dog is happy… 😉
Oh la la … oh la la … Nature … you can’t beat it … thanks for posting such beauty to uplift us all!
Thx. Glad you enjoyed it!
I’m so coveting your spring blooms! We barely have anything budding here yet, and I swear I’ve only seen the sun for about an hour or two, yesterday, over the last three weeks. Keep those pictures coming! Gives me some hope. And they’re gorgeous.
Thanks And we will be out there taking more photos…we are sooo excited to get back to “work” in the garden. If winter does anything, it makes you love spring.
Reblogged this on swaico.
Beautiful pictures – great photography!
Gorgeous photos–I cannot be jealous since we have beautiful heavy snow coating each and every branch, so it’s gorgeous here as well!
The snow is pretty and we miss that part (we just don’t miss the temperatures).
Blossom season is my favorite – it is still a ways off here but so nice to have this reminder! Enjoy!
Thanks- our favorite, too…now we just have to get a few more blueberries..
hello, putneyfarm… lovely photos! you capture the coming of the season so beautifully… warm regards 🙂
Thanks, glad you enjoyed them!
Such wonderful captures of spring, well, springing!
Nice! Spring has indeed sprung around here…
Wonderful … only seen some snowdrops .. so fare, but always the first sign – lovely photos – of a lovely time coming up. Envy … very much so.
Thanks…glad you enjoyed the pics…seems most people are still in snow. Lucky to be in California…
We had some fantastic sunny days for nearly a week now – even if it’s a bit bitter in the air. A month to go .. and all our apple trees will bloom – live in the cider county. *smile
Lovely photography – I swear I can almost smell spring just by looking. I know Spring is coming here in Minnesota! How, one might ask? It snowed six inches earlier this week, but it was a wet snow, and Gibson and Homer are starting to shed…
Thanks. And funny, when we used to be in Northern NY (by the St. Lawrence River) we used to know spring was coming when the snow got wet. But it always had to snow at least 1 time in April…one more reason we ran to California…;-)
Yay! Spring’s coming! Sooo glad you posted these photos.
Thanks- very glad the flowers were out. We needed an excuse to get outside…
