We not only mix drinks here at the farm, but often visit local bars to enjoy their work and get ideas. Besides, there are few things better than starting off an evening with a good cocktail among friends, and it is even better when someone else is doing the mixing. Recently we wrote and took photos for an article on Silicon Valley cocktails for Edible Silicon Valley Magazine, the full article is here. We cover the excellent drinks and service at Martin’s West in Redwood City, Station1 and the Village Pub in Woodside, Manresa (famous, farm-to-table Michelin 2 star) in Los Gatos, Singlebarrel in San Jose and the Surf Spot in Pacifica. We want to thank all the owners, beverage directors and bartenders who helped us with the article…and share some extra photos to show you their work. If you are anywhere in Silicon Valley or the Peninsula, these places are worth a visit.

LOVE this post…and the red veined sorrel is an awesome drink do-dad! Will have to pluck some out tonight and give that a try!
Thanks- and you did give it a try- beautiful photo!
I hope that you had a designated driver! The drinks look great!
Funny thing, we did less drinking when taking photos and writing….turns out by the time you get the photo the drink is warm…which was probably all for the best… 😉
Suddenly I am filled with the desire to travel and visit these wonderful places.
They are worth a visit…and our weather is better than San Francisco!
lovely times a million! Great pictures and surely great drinks. Was going to ask who you wrote for after an earlier response. Am impressed you’re in the big leagues 😉 Though not surprised as you always spin a fun and well-crafted tale.
feel a bit self-serving responding to my OWN comment–haha–but received a package today that made me think of you. Posted a picture over at facebook and thinking it’s the only time I’ll ever out-obscure spirit the Putneys. Ever. So wanted to share. A Hawaiian friend sent over a small bottle of a lilikoi liqueur she made. Oh what fun this will be in cocktails. (though for all I know you brew your own and have a bottle on hand 😉 )
Also, wrong spot for this comment, but a recent lifestyle/kitchen mag (Good Housekeeping or some such thing) had a cover with hot dogs that looked much like your Atomic. You are so on trend!
Thanks- will check out the photo (lilikoi liqueur, very cool and just making our own limoncello).
Didn’t know we were on-trend, our kids just keep playing with hot sauces and we are into kim-chi and kraut- although it seems fermented foods are all the rage..
What a lovely gallery of cocktails … sorrel .. in a cocktail, learned something new today too. Glad that you are getting out and about .. you two. *smile
By the way what happen to MY cocktail ???? Lost in transit???!!!! *laughing
Actually- the main ingredient is brewing (infusing?) in a drawer under the bar…patience, patience…almost there 😉
